Francis Molua Mwambo won prize for best paper

Francis Molua Mwambo (BiomassWeb junior researcher from Cameroon) won the prize for the best paper presented at the conference on “Ethics of Food Security in a Changing Society – Learning from the Past to Shape the Future” in Cumberland Lodge, Windsor Great Park, United Kingdom, on September 24. The paper entitled “Assessing the ecological-societal impacts of West African farming practices by means of energy efficiency” is part of the ongoing research in BiomassWeb work package 4.6 on Energy Efficiency. FTI training of facilitators in Addis Ababa – August 18-22, 2014

Participatory Research in BiomassWeb

On March 19, 2014 the first “Participatory research in BiomassWeb. Introductory Workshop” took place at ZEF. Sixteen people participated, including researchers from the three project countries Ghana, Nigeria and Ethiopia, as well as researchers from ZEF and Hohenheim University. The workshop was facilitated by Mr. Laurens van Veldhuizen, ETC Foundation in the Netherlands, and aimed at increasing the understanding of a participatory research approach and developing ideas on how to integrate this approach within the project’s research. Anna-Katharina Hornidge (ZEF senior researcher) spoke about “Introduction to Inter- and Transdisciplinarity” at the workshop.
