BiomassWeb is aiming to develop a stakeholder network – BiomassNet – to promote biomass production, processing and trading in African countries in order to enhance food security and support the emerging bio-economies.
We are happy to announce that we have moved one step ahead in creating this network.
The BiomassNet Dgroup has been set up by the Forum for Agricultural Research (FARA) to serve as an online communication platform to foster exchange on topics related to biomass production, processing and trading in Africa. As such, the Dgroup is the first step in establishing a pan-African network to promote biomass production, processing and trading in order to enhance food security and support the emerging bio-economies in African countries. The Dgroup welcomes all stakeholders – scientists, experts, policy makers, local, regional and national authorities, practitioners, civil society and development organisations – who are keen to discuss issues related to food and non-food biomass and to work towards sustainable, productive and efficient biomass-based value webs and land use systems.

Dgroups are a group communication tool designed to facilitate targeted discussions between group members. The BiomassNet Dgroup will be moderated by Dady Demby (FARA) and Dr. Christine Schmitt (ZEF).
